Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival into Nairobi, after completing immigration and customs formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to One Forty Eight Giraffe Sanctuary where you will stay for one night.
Day 2
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lewa Downs. On arrival you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your transfer to Sirikoi Lodge where you will stay for two nights.
Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon activity.
Day 3
Enjoy one full day at Sirikoi, and on the Lewa Conservancy.
Days are as action-packed or as rejuvenating as desired, and Sirikoi offers a range of unique activities through which to experience and explore the wilderness and wildlife.
The wildlife on Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is abundant and includes many rare and endangered species such as reticulated giraffe, black and white rhino, and the largest resident population of Grevy’s zebra in the world. Our guests also enjoy frequent leopard, cheetah and lion sightings. Families of elephant have carved Sirikoi into their migratory routes and almost daily they can be seen just in front of the Sirikoi deck for hours at a time.
Our guests enjoy incredible wildlife encounters
- on morning, evening and night game drives in their own exclusive and open safari vehicles with their guide;
- on foot with a ranger on a bush walk,
- from one of the Lewa hides watching the wildlife pass by,
- or in a leather chair on the Sirikoi deck overlooking the busy waterhole and wildlife on the lawns.
One of the joys of Sirikoi is the busy waterhole right in front of the main deck, making it possible to see an array of wildlife without even leaving the lodge. We call this “armchair game-viewing”, and it is a defining feature of Sirikoi.
Day 4
After a morning activity and breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to Naboisho Camp, where you will stay for three nights. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon activity.
Day 5 – 6
Enjoy two full days of game viewing activites at Naboisho Camp.
The private concession of Naboisho Conservancy by its nature allows for a wide range of great activities to be carried out. The range of options is very much dictated by this wilderness and we seek to explore it in a deep but sensitive manner. Along with traditional activities such as game driving (including off road which is very rare in the eco system) guests can also night game drive to see some of the nocturnal animals the region is well known for. There is also the chance to do walking safaris with a Maasai guide who will take you through the land that he grew up on. The conservancy is a partnership with the community and so offers cultural activities that are both genuine and rewarding to both host and guest. Fly camping is also possible and is a wonderful way to explore, up close and personal, some of the more remote corners of this wilderness.
Day 7
After breakfast and a morning activity, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met by an Alluring Africa for your transfer to Hemingways where you will stay for one night.
This afternoon, you will have a vehicle and guide at your disposal to explore Nairobi.
Situated 160km south of the equator, Nairobi is the capital of Kenya and boasts one of the finest climates in the world. Although the ‘City in the Sun’ is relatively young by global standards, it has a fascinating history capturing explorers, missionaries, wars, cultural diversity and politics, each leaving their mark on the city in some way.
Follow in the footsteps of Karen Blixen as you travel towards the Ngong Hills, you feel swept immediately onto the film set of Out of Africa the moment you arrive. The old colonial farmhouse is simple, housing a few items that Karen Blixen chose and once enjoyed herself. There are also the colorful gardens to explore, where several old coffee machines have laid untouched for decades. From here visit the Giraffe Center, where the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe lives in peace. With an elevated viewing-cum-feeding platform, this tour is wonderful for children.
Continue to David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage situated on the outskirts of Nairobi. The Sanctuary is run by Angela Sheldrick, daughter of David and Daphne Sheldrick, and is set in the grounds of her house. Here, you will see the orphaned animals and meet the people who handle and care for these animals. It’s an interesting excursion and the team who run the orphanage are always willing to spend time answering any questions guests have to ask.
The nearby Talisman is one of the best-reviewed restaurants in Nairobi, and may be worth a visit for today’s meal.
You may also choose to visit the City Center. Please note that the traffic can be quite heavy in the Nairobi city center, so you may only choose to include this if you are very keen to see the market.
Explore the City Market, a bustling center of color, noise and activity, where fresh produce and flowers rest beside tailors, haberdashers and seamstresses, offering delightful insight into the capital’s rich culture, or delve deep into Nairobi’s more historic side at the National Museum, where extensive collections of paleontology and ethnography await, as well as a life-size statue of the famed Ahmed, the federally protected pachyderm infamous for his 300 pound tusks.
You will end your day at Hemingways Nairobi, where you will stay for one night.
Day 8
After breakfast, you will be collected by an Asilia representative and transferred to the airport for your flight to the Seychelles. On arrival, you will be met by a 7 Degrees South representative and transferred to Maia Luxury Resort & Spa where you will stay for four nights.
