Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival in Rome, after clearing passport control and customs, collect your luggage and proceed to the exit. Here you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Roma Termini Station for the train to Naples. Upon arrival at Napoli Centrale Railway Station, you will transfer to the hydrofoil which will take you to Capri. Upon arrival in Capri, you will be transferred to Capri Palace Hotel & Spa where you will stay for three nights.
Capri, an island in Italy’s Bay of Naples, is famed for its rugged landscape, upscale hotels and shopping, from designer fashions to limoncello and handmade leather sandals. One of its best-known natural sites is the Blue Grotto, a dark cavern where the sea glows electric blue, the result of sunlight passing through an underwater cave. In summer, Capri’s dramatic, cove-studded coastline draws many yachts.
Day 2
After breakfast you will be collected for your Private Full Day visit to the Blue Grotto. An English speaking guide will accompany you for the day to truly enhance your visit.
It is the most famous place on the island of Capri, the most spectacular and without doubt, at least during the tourist season, one of the most crowded. Its name and beauty are due to the intense blue color of the crystal-water in this cave formed over the millenniums by the erosive action of the sea.
The cave consists of several enclosures: the largest of these, known as “Duomo Azzurro”, which is accessed through a natural opening artificially widened in Roman times and around 1830, covers a surface area of about 70 m length, 25 m in width and 20-22 m in depth: the height of the internal vault ranges from 7 to 14 m. From this main cavity lead many corridors and passages to other underground ravines. The light is filtered by the water which absorbs the red tones, leaving only the blue ones to pass into the cave. A second phenomenon creates the silver appearance of the objects immersed in the water: given that the index of refraction of the bubbles of air which adhere to the surface of the objects is different to that of the water, the light is allowed to egress.
Day 3
Today you will have at leisure to enjoy Capri.
Day 4
After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Positano where you will stay at La Sireneuse for two nights.
Positano is a cliffside village on southern Italy’s Amalfi Coast. It’s a well-known holiday destination with a pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Its Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta features a majolica-tiled dome and a 13th-century Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary. The Sentiero degli Dei hiking trail links Positano to other coastal towns.
Day 5
Today you will be collected for a Private Full Day sightseeing tour the Amalfi Coast.
Discover the famous beauty of one of Italy’s most iconic shorelines. Travel along spectacular coastal roads, stopping to visit the region’s three most popular and beautiful villages — Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. With tips from your knowledgeable guide, enjoy leisure time in each town to stroll narrow cobblestone streets, shop for unique handmade goods or perhaps dine on the waterfront. Following your tour you will be brought back to your hotel where the remainder of the day will be at your leisure. Dinner recommendations and reservations can be made.
Day 6
Today you will be collected from your hotel for your private road transfer to Naples, where you will stay at the Grand Hotel Parker for one night. The reminder of the day will be yours at leisure.
Naples, a city in southern Italy, sits on the Bay of Naples. Nearby is Mount Vesuvius, the still-active volcano that destroyed nearby Roman town Pompeii. Dating to the 2nd millennium B.C., Naples has centuries of important art and architecture. The city’s cathedral, the Duomo di San Gennaro, is filled with frescoes. Other major landmarks include the lavish Royal Palace and Castel Nuovo, a 13th-century castle.
Day 7
You will be collected for your private road transfer to Naples Municipal Airport for the scheduled flight to Rome, to connect with your homebound flight.
