Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival into Rome, after completing immigration and customs formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to Hotel Eden where you will stay for three nights.
In the evening, you will be collected from your hotel by a Luxury Trips representative and taken on a Private Introduction Vespa Tour.
When in Rome, what better way to explore the Eternal City than by doing as the Romans do and hopping onboard a Vespa! Rome is undoubtedly one of the most romantic cities in the world, with its cobble stoned alleyways, epic monuments and ruins, baroque churches, charming palaces and piazzas all lined with old trattorias and cafes.
Day 2
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative for a Private Tour of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
Travel back in time to live the past grandeur of the Roman Empire, its tragedies and love of entertainment, its light and darkness, its rise and fall, its secrets and legends. Get to know some of the most famous and illustrious citizens, such as Julius Caesar, Emperors Augustus and Nero as well as the Flavian Emperors who built the Coliseum. A small group half day guided tour will unveil for you the secrets of the Roman Forum, where Julius Caesar was cremated, where Mark Antony made his famous speech and the vestal virgins kept alive the fire for the goddess Vesta in her temple, this fascinating visit will continue inside the Colloseum to hear the history and tales of Gladiators and animals, battles and executions- to continue through Ancient Rome in front of the Arch of Constantine, which marks the beginning of the new Christian epoch.
Enjoy the afternoon free to continue exploring the city of Rome at your pace and leisure.
Day 3
At a time to be advised: This morning, you will be collected from your hotel by a Luxury Trips representative and taken on a VIP Vatican Tour.
According to Aristotle, “it is well to be up before daybreak, for such habits contribute to wealth, health and wisdom…”, and -though Aristotle couldn’t possibly know- it also contributes to enjoy exclusive priority access to the Vatican Museums before they are open to the public- the experience of being able to contemplate the Sistine chapel almost on your own, in an intimate atmosphere with only a small group of other English speaking tourists and with the inestimable assistance of your expert guide will be well worth the price of missing a bit of sleep.
After the tour, you can continue your day with an enchanting walk that will take you pass Castel de Sant’Angelo and Piazza di Popolo to the Galleria Borgherse where you will be provided with skip the line tickets.
Day 4
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Rome Train Station for your direct train to Naples. On arrival, you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private touring transfer to Sorrento.
During the ride along the beautiful, world famous Italian southern coastline, you’ll visit the impressive ruins of Pompeii, Europe’s most compelling archaeological site. Sprawling and haunting, the site is a stark reminder of the malign forces that lie deep inside Vesuvius. Tour concludes at Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria where you will stay for three nights.
Day 5
Day Trip to the Amalfi Coast.
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative for your Private Full Day Tour of the Amalfi Coast with an English speaking guide. You will become acquainted with Sorrento, Rabello, Amalfi and all the unforgettable views along the winding coastal roads.
The Amalfi Coast is a remarkably beautiful 48 kilometer-long stretch of mountainous coastline in the Italian southwestern region of Campania. It is known for its historic ruins, its breathtaking natural views and, of course, its iconic pastel colored, medieval fishing villages which cling to the side of steep cliff faces, towering above the glistening Mediterranean Sea. The vertical landscape of Amalfi features a continuous succession bays, fjords and public gardens, interspersed with lovely little pebbled beaches. For decades this UNESCO World Heritage Site has been one of Italy’s major tourist attractions, offering visitors excellent restaurants, hotels, bars, boutiques, and boat trips. The area is also famous for its sweet and zesty limoncello liqueur (owing to its abundance of lemons) and its colorful, exquisitely-decorated handmade ceramics.
Day 6
Day Trip to Capri.
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative and taken on a Full Day Private Boat Tour of Capri.
During a full day private tour with boat, captain and guide included you will sail along the coast. You will be able to swim and sunbathe in the famous azure blue sea, admire the iconic Faraglioni rock formations, enjoy the Blue Grotto, Capri’s famously azure sea cave and admire the 19th-century Villa San Michele, with its garden filled with ivy-covered statues.
Day 7
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Naples Train Station for your direct train to Florence. On arrival, you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to Hotel Lungarno where you will stay for five nights.
In the afternoon, you will be collected from your hotel by a Luxury Trips representative and taken on a Private Guided Walking Tour of Florence.
During your tour, your guide will explain the history of Florence, the rise and fall of the great families- greatest among them being the Medici family who dominated Florence for centuries. You’ll visit the Square of Sta. Maria Novella, the incredibly beautiful Duomo, the Piazza della Signoria and the delightful Ponte Vecchio over the Arno.
Day 8
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative and taken on a Private Tour of the Academia and Uffizi Gallery.
An expert guide will lead you through the Academia Museum, where you can admire the Statue of David and learn more about Michelangelo’s masterpieces. The tour will then continue on with a visit to one of the best paint museums in the world-The Uffizi Gallery.
Day 9
Day Trip to Cinque Terre.
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Florence Train Station for your direct train to La Spezia, gateway to the Cinque Terre area. You’ll discover how the sunlight washes across the blue of the Mediterranean sea and the multi-hued houses with their green terraces that make up these picturesque towns. These towns that form the Italian Riviera hold an incredible charm with their narrow cobblestone streets that meander around multi-colored medieval homes, lush olive groves and wild lemon trees. Riomaggiore, a treasure of the Ligurian coast, the southern most point of Cinque Terre with it’s pastel hued homes; Manarola, the smallest of the five towns, located 230 feet above sea level atop the seaside cliff with it’s church atop of the mountain that overlooks the harbor. Corniglia, the only one of the five towns that does not contact the sea; Vernazza, considered to be the most charming of the five towns and is dominated by the remains of it’s cylindrical Castle tower and Monterosso, the most northern of the towns with it’s statue of Neptune etched into a precipice looking over the fishing boats that wad in the water at the harbor.
In the afternoon, you’ll return to La Spezia for your train back to Florence.
Day 10
Day Trip to the Chianti Region.
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative and taken on a Private Full Day Chianti Wine Tour.
You’ll get acquainted with the hills of Chianti, the fortress of Monteriggioni, the village of San Gimignano and enjoy a wine tasting at two wineries.
Day 11
Day Trip to Bologna.
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Florence Train Station for your direct train to Bologna. On arrival, make your way to your small group cooking class where you will learn how to prepare the best Italian pasta and the most iconic of Italian sauces, the ragu, which has become for the rest of the world “bolognesa”.
The afternoon is at your leisure to explore before catching the train back to Florence.
Day 12
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Florence Train Station for your direct train to Venice. On arrival, take the water taxi to The Gritti where you will stay for two nights.
In the evening, a private Gondola ride will introduce you to the romantic ambiance of this city.
Day 13
At a time to be advised: You will be collected from your hotel by a Luxury Trips representative and taken on a Private Walking Tour of Venice.
Your expert guide will help you discover the city by wandering the maze of cobblestone streets where you will be delighted with wonderful surprises; a hidden church, a beautiful piazza, a canal filled with gondole, a maze of pedestrian walkways and little foot bridges lining canals, gelato shops and enticing bakeries. As well as the Basilica of Saint Mark, the city’s most important church set in the imposing Saint Marks Square. The tour continues with a boat tour to experience the iconic Grand Canal with it’s lining of stunning ornate palaces.
Day 14
At a time to be advised: You will be collected from your hotel by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to the Venice Airport for your departure flight.
Return home, taking with you the sights, sounds, and memories of an incredible Italian trip!
