Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
On arrival, after clearing passport control and customs, collect your luggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to Hotel Petit Palace Museum where you will stay for three nights.
The day will be yours at leisure to begin exploring the city.
Day 2
Today you will enjoy a small group Half Day 360º Tour of Barcelona. After breakfast make your way to Carrer de Montjuïc del Bisbe (15 minute walk) where the tour begins at 10:00 am and will be approximately 3.5 hours long.
Enjoy the city of Barcelona from different and exciting perspectives: land, sea and air. Feel the rhythm of the city while riding a fantastic Mercedes smart electric bike rolling down the streets full of life. Admire the city from the top of the Montjuïc Mountain’s cable-car. Sail along the coast of Barcelona and admire the skyline of the city in an eco-boat.
By land: panoramic tour of the city taking in its most iconic landmarks and sites: Gothic Quarter, Passeig de Gràcia and the Quadrat d´Or heritage district, Sagrada Família, Ciutadella, Old Harbor and the Olympic Village.
By sea: hop on board the catamaran in the old harbor, the Port Vell, and sail along the Barcelona coast while you enjoy the city skyline.
By air: ride up to the castle on the Montjuïc cable car.
In the afternoon, take some time for yourself, walk again the old Gothic quarter to discover with different eyes the medieval city, or ramble along the Rambla to experience the beat of life of this intense city.
Day 3
This morning make your way to El Corte Inglés (7 minute walk). Arrive by 8:30 am to join your group for your Full Day Wine and Cava Tour.
Discover the wines and cavas of Catalonia during your tour that includes the visit of three famous wineries, with a sampling of their mouthwatering creations, well accompanied by delicious local cheese and cold meats.
Board a comfortable omnibus, and share this pleasurable tour with other English speaking tourists, and a local guide that will enliven your journey with useful and interesting information about wine and wineries, and amusing stories and legends of the city. The tour will last approximately 7.5-8 hours.
On arrival back at the meeting point, the remainder of the evening will be yours to enjoy a leisurely dinner and soak in the sights of the city.
Day 4
Today enjoy the morning at your leisure to enjoy Barcelona before embarking on your journey to Madrid. At 2:00 pm meet your driver in the lobby of your hotel for your private road transfer to the train station for your business class train transfer to Madrid (3:00 pm/5:30 pm).
On arrival you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to Hotel Urban where you will stay for three nights.
In the evening make your way to Puerta del Sol under the equestrian statue of Carlos III (5 minute walk) to join a small group for your Tapas Tour that begins at 8:00 pm. This tour will help you get acquainted with the Madrid “castizo” (typical and historical), while relishing some of the mouthwatering delicatessens available at the traditional taverns.
Day 5
After breakfast make your way to Centro de Turismo Plaza (10 minute walk) for your Madrid History & Art City Tour beginning at 11:00 am, lasting approx 2.5 hours.
A professional guide will introduce you and your group to the magnificent past of this city. Madrid was once the capital of an Empire where the sun was said never to set. The majestic Royal Palace, the alluring 16th and 17th century buildings of Habsburg Madrid… everything in your tour will make you long for a lost era of darkness and light, of bold swordsmen and all- too- powerful kings.
The afternoon and evening will be yours to explore the city at your leisure.
Day 6
Today you will get to prepare your own meal at a hands on Group Cooking Class. Leave the hotel and make your way independently to Calle de Moratín (7 minute walk) to arrive in time for you 10:00 am class.
With a small group of English Speaking foodies, you will be paired with a mate and together you will create a superb gastronomic delicacy. Some sangría and appetizers will make this activity even more amusing and delightful. You will also get to visit the market and bring home a recipe booklet.
When your class ends at approximately 2:00 pm, the rest of the day will be yours at leisure to relax and enjoy the surrounding sights.
Day 7
Today you will journey to France. At 10:30 am meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel for your private road transfer to the Madrid Airport for your flight to Aix en Provence (12:45 pm/2:15 pm).
On arrival collect your luggage and proceed to the exit where you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative for your private road transfer to Grand Hotel du Roi Rene where you will stay for three nights.
Day 8
After breakfast, make your way independently to the Aix en Provence Tourism Information Center (9 minute walk) for your Full Day Market Tour and Cooking Class that begins at 9:30am.
On the way to the old town food market, your chef and guide will give you a bit of history and tell you a few stories about the Provence area. You will meet some of the local food producers, and you will select all the best ingredients according to the season and the selected menu. On your way to the provençal ville that will host your cooking day, you will stop by a wine Chateau to pair your wine with your meal and you will visit the local goat cheese farm.
After a 10-minute drive and crossing the 17th century “Pont des 3 Sautets” bridge painted by Cezanne, you will arrive at a 12-acre property belonging to the chef, who will show you around the house and organic vegetable garden. Then you will begin your cooking lesson, during which you will all actively participate in the preparation of the recipes, where the chef will share his cooking skills and knowledge.
After approximately 2 hours of cooking, you will be ready to share your culinary works of art in the most “convivial” local way. In the course of the day you will also certainly have time to take a walk in the wild provencal “Garrigue” filled with aromatic herbs.
Later in the afternoon (around 4:00 pm), make your way back to Aix en Provence through the scenic Montaiguet Forest.
Day 9
Today after an early breakfast, begin you walk to Aixprit Velo (4 minutes) for a Small Group Cycling Tour beginning at 9:00 am
Enjoy a leisurely 4 hour cycling tour across the countryside, reveling in the views along the Cezanne route. Experience the picturesque village of Tholonet and the magnifique Maison du Canal de Provence. From there, you will ride along the route de la Langesse, to the Chateu de Cremade, where you will visit the vineyards and taste some of their delightful finished products.
The rest of the day will be yours at leisure to explore the city.
Day 10
Today you will journey to Nice. At 7:30 am meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel for your private road transfer to the train station. Travel by rail first class to Nice (8:33 am/11:37 am).
On arrival you will be met by a Luxury Trips representative who will transfer you to Hotel Le Grimaldi where you will stay for two nights.
Day 11
Free day to enjoy this beautiful city of the Côte d’Azur. Alternatively, there are many possible excursions to help you make the most of your stay in la Rivière (Èze/Grasse, St. Paul de Vence, Monaco, etc.).
Day 12
At 10:30 am you will be met in the hotel lobby by your guide for your private transfer to the airport for your departing flight home (1:05pm) taking all the sights, sounds, and memories of Spain and France with you.
