Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
On arrival, after clearing customs and immigration make your way outside the terminal to connect with your shared bus transfer to Sandhotel where you will stay for four nights. The bus departs from the airport 34-40 minutes after each flight arrival.
At the hotel, meet your private guide for your full day Golden Circle Tour.
If you only take one guided tour while you are in Iceland, then it has to be the Golden Circle. Combining natural and historical wonders, you‘ll experience Iceland‘s landmark attractions in one incredible day: the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, the exploding hot springs of Geysir, and Þingvellir national park, site of the Viking parliament and over 1000 years of history. The SuperJeep version also includes a wilderness drive to the edge of Langjökull, Iceland’s second largest glacier, where you can try snowmobiling.
Day 2
Today after breakfast, take the 40 minute bus to Blue Lagoon (return bus fair included).
Beautifully situated amongst the dramatic lava fields of Reykjanes, the Blue Lagoon offers a relaxing wellness experience in soothing waters enriched with silica and minerals beneficial for the mind and body.
The Blue Lagoon is large, but not very deep, and provides a moon-like ambiance for lounging in its bright blue water. Other amenities on site include a sauna, steam room and a warm waterfall which is refreshing and good for the muscles. There are pots of silica around the lagoon for guests to give themselves a unique facial treatment and a “swim up” bar that offers among other refreshments; the famous Blue Lagoon cocktail. A multitude of invigorating or relaxing treatments can be booked in addition to a stay in the lagoon and most are performed in the water. The spa team also provides a range of luxurious packages from short two hour introductions, to whole day pampering sessions.
This evening you will be met at the hotel for your Northern Lights Bus Tour.
Our destinations are different from day to day as we always head in the direction where we have the greatest chance of catching the lights. It can be a hunt, and we have a team of skilled hunters who do their utmost to provide you with the most enjoyable experience as possible. In the rare cases where we do not see the northern lights, you are welcome to join another northern lights tour free of charge.
Day 3
Today will be yours at leisure to explore Reykjavik on your own!
Day 4
After breakfast, meet your bus outside your hotel for your 6 hour Volcano Tour.
The dormant Thrihnukagigur volcano is a unique natural phenomenon. By setting up the necessary gear and equipment, we’ve created a tour that opens the door to a new world.
It really isn’t that complicated to experience it. All you need is the willingness to do a moderate 45–50 minute hike (to get to the crater) and the guts to descend 120 meters/400 feet to the bottom of the crater in an open cable lift.
Day 5
Today will be yours at leisure until it is time to transfer to the airport for your flight home, taking with you the sights, sounds, and memories of an incredible Icelandic adventure!
