Nestled discreetly beneath a grove of false mopane trees, Davison's is located in the private Linkwasha Concession - one of the most prolific wildlife areas in Hwange National Park. Hidden within a treeline, this African safari camp, overlooks an open plain and a waterhole that attracts large numbers of animals, especially thirsty herds of elephant and buffalo in the dry season.

Guests staying in one of Davison’s nine tents (including a family room) can enjoy the quintessential Hwange experience, viewing the wildlife on game drives and guided nature walks in this diverse and exciting area. Arranged directly in camp only, and subject to vehicle availability, it may be possible to include a visit to one of the local villages. Subject to availability, guests may have the opportunity to visit and learn more about the Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit team.

This rich wilderness area offers exceptional game drives as well as walking and fishing safaris, all in the company of highly trained professional guides. Healthy populations of predators, including lion, leopard, hyena, and cheetah as well as elephant, buffalo, and antelope frequent the shoreline. Hippos and crocodiles are abundant in the cool waters. Birdlife is prolific, with 350 species having been identified in the area.

Located in the legendary Mana Pools National Park, Ruckomechi enjoys incredible views across the Zambezi to the towering escarpment on the Zambian side of the river. Albida trees provide both shade and seed pods that are beloved of elephants, meaning that these charismatic creatures are never far away.

Guest accommodation consists of ten spacious en-suite tented units, including two family units, and open 4x4 vehicles, motorised pontoon boats, canoes and good old safari boots facilitate the wildlife viewing. The camp even features a secluded outdoor bath for a luxurious sensory experience. Ruckomechi is open throughout the dry (winter) season.

INSIDER'S TIP: A boat cruise along the mighty Zambezi is a wonderful way to see wildlife and waterbirds from a different perspective. For the more adventurous – there’s the option of canoeing along this famous river!

Full Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative who will assist you to your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Davison’s Camp where you will stay for three nights. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game activity.

Board a scheduled boat transfer to Changa Safari Camp where you will stay for two nights. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game activity.

Day 10

After breakfast and a morning game activity, you will be transferred from Ruckomechi Camp to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Victoria Falls Airport. You will be met by a lodge representative for your road transfer to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge where you will stay for two nights.

This afternoon, enjoy a sunset cruise down the Zambezi River. Put your feet up, sip a sundowner as the light gently fades, and let our tranquil wildlife cruise float you along the Zambezi River above the Falls. You’ll have the finest vantage point from which to watch hippo, crocodiles and other animals which come down to the river’s edge in the early evening, to slake their thirst. You’re in the first-class seats, that’s for sure, and while you’re sipping your cocktail and enjoying snacks – no further movement required on your part – you’ll be captivated by the sun’s dying rays as they cast a burnt-orange glow which shimmers on the river. Take another sip in this golden setting – cheers!

This morning after breakfast you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your scheduled guided tour of Victoria Falls.

The words of David Livingstone, “On sights as beautiful as this, angels in their flight must have gazed,” most aptly describe the beauty of this breathtaking natural world wonder. Known to the local Kololo people as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or the “smoke that thunders”, Victoria Falls is truly a sight to be taken in. Victoria Falls, the world’s largest, most dramatic waterfall, is alive with innumerable adrenaline-charged activities.

Optional activities include; white water rafting, bungee jumping, helicopter ride or micro light over Falls, visit to Chobe National Park, elephant back ride, tour Cultural Village
