Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
On arrival into Cape Town, after clearing customs and immigration, proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to the Queen Victoria Hotel where you will stay for four nights. Enjoy your afternoon/evening at leisure.
Day 2
Your private adventure guide will meet you at your hotel for a full day of touring. We suggest a Cape Peninsula and Lion’s Head Hike tour. View the virtual tour here: http://digital.alluringafrica.com/Itinerary/DayTour/C4684BA3-751E-DCF0-5D53-5F84EDC917D7?oid=2886
A private adventure guide is arranged for your touring in the Cape Town and the Winelands. Your guide will meet you in the morning, either before, during, or after breakfast. Like everything else on the day, timing is up to you. Ultimate plans for the day are made at this point, taking into account the weather and what you want to see and do; however, before your adventure begins, we’ll have details from you in terms of what you’d like to do, where you’d like to go, and how hard you’d like the pace to be! We’ll also have your dietary and drink preferences so we can assure our gourmet pantry and drink fridge is well stocked. This helps us ensure we’re fully prepared for the day, based on your expectations and ability levels.
The idea is to show you the Cape whilst out on its trails and waterways. Where you go and what activities you do are up to you and in most cases the day often unfolds with a number of unexpected twists and turns, so that even your guide has no idea where you’ll end up on any given day. That’s why we carry all the equipment we need for the day with us.
Day 3
Enjoy the next two days at your leisure. Optional tours can be booked on request.
Cape Town is recognized as one of the most beautiful places on earth. Offering a range of attractions, breathtaking sights and endless activities, it is a year-round holiday destination with friendly people, a mild climate and rich cultural heritage.
Cape Town is also the culinary capital of South Africa. Nowhere else in the country is the populace so discerning about food, and nowhere else is there such a wide selection of restaurants. Western culinary history here dates back more than 350 years. Cape Town was founded specifically to grow food, and that heritage is reflected in the city’s cuisine. A number of restaurants operate in historic town houses and 18th-century wine estates, and many include heritage dishes on their menus.
Day 4
Day 5
Your private adventure guide will meet you at your hotel for a full day of touring. We suggest an Outdoor Constantia Winelands Tour. View the virtual tour here: http://digital.alluringafrica.com/Itinerary/DayTour/0B5E4D9F-0C1F-493F-FF0F-AD17F6B517B6?oid=2886
You will be dropped off at Leeu House where you will stay for two nights.
Day 6
Enjoy a day at leisure in Franschhoek. Franschhoek is just under an hour’s drive from Cape Town. The valley is surrounded on three sides by majestic mountain ranges and has a fascinating history. In 1688, the French Huguenots were granted farmlands on their arrival in this region and ever since it has boasted a distinctly French ambiance. Franschhoek is one of the world’s great wine and food destinations. The 52 wine farms and 48 restaurants that call the valley home give a taste of the culture, history and passion that have come together here.
Daily diversions at Leeu House most often involve explorations of Franschhoek Village, with its array of dining, shopping and art-browsing opportunities. You are invited to partake in the activities at Leeu Estates, including spa treatments; walking, jogging and cycling trails; swimming in the heated infinity pool; gourmet dining; and visits to the wine cellar and sleek wine tasting facility.
When not exploring Franschhoek Village set at your doorstep, you may slip away to the comfortable couches and wood-burning fireplace of the lounge – stocked with Leeu Collection wines and delicious light snacks all day long – or dine in the relaxed Conservatory. A fifteen-meter pool is a lovely diversion, as is a stroll through the manicured gardens and lawns. By way of complimentary shuttle, you also have full access to the cuisine, winery, spa and swimming pool of the nearby Leeu Estates, a working wine farm and vineyard.
Day 7
You will be collected from your hotel for your private road transfer to the Cape Town Airport for your scheduled regional flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival, collect your luggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to Shamwari Eagles Crag Lodge where you will stay for three nights.
Day 8
Enjoy two full days of activities at Shamwari Game Reserve. This game reserve not only has 5-star accommodation, green initiatives and animals that roam free but we also offer several experiences to keep you entertained under the beautiful African sky.
With two game drives per day, morning and evening, you can embark on an intimate guided tour of this pristine land. Survey the areas, witness the birds of prey or spot one of the Big 5 from the comfort and safety of our open game vehicles. Our rangers and guides are passionate about wildlife and knowledgeable in their respective fields of expertise. Expect to take away new insights, an appreciation for Africa, and an unforgettable experience.
