Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
On arrival after clearing passport control and customs, collect your luggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by your guide for your road transfer to the Locanda del Sole where you will stay for three nights.
After settling into your accommodation, make your way independently to the premier of the famous Opera “Un Ballo in Maschera” by Giuseppe Verdi at the Opera di Roma.
Day 2
Early in the morning meet your driver in the lobby of your hotel for your small group half day tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. In an intimate atmosphere with only a small group of other English speaking tourists and with the inestimable assistance of your expert guide will be well worth the price of missing a bit of sleep!
After your early morning Vatican tour, take the rest of the day to roam this incredible city, explore its piazzas and fountains… Enjoy the day at your leisure.
Day 3
After an early breakfast, meet your driver in the lobby of your hotel for your small group tour of the Roman Forum.
Your small group half day guided tour will unveil for you the secrets of the Roman Forum, where Julius Caesar was cremated, where Mark Antony made his famous speech and the vestal virgins kept alive the fire for the goddess Vesta in her temple.
The rest of the day is free to enjoy the marvels of the Eternal city.
Day 4
After breakfast, your driver will meet you in the lobby of your hotel for your private transfer and tour to Siena.
You will begin by stopping in the Brunello wine region, where you will visit a winery and enjoy lunch paired with a Brunello wine tasting.
After lunch you will have time to visit the hill town of Montalcino, and a second organic wine winery, before arriving in Siena to Tenuta la Santissima where you will stay for five nights
Day 5
Today your driver will pick you up to embark on a full day tour with a small group to the beautiful medieval town of Pienza, rightly considered the gem of the renaissance in the Val d’Orcia.
After Pienza you’ll make your way to a local dairy farm for a wholesome and refreshing lunch based mainly on the fresh ingredients produced on the farm. Here you will taste the local Pecorino cheese, visit the farms animals and learn about the lifestyle of the area. Lunch will be served on a panoramic terrace.
In the afternoon visit one of the biggest of the Tuscan hill towns, Montepulciano. Visit the main square, Piazza Grande, and explore one of the many old wineries carved out of the ground below the city.
Day 6
In the morning, join a two hour shared walking tour to explore the beautiful town of Siena, and let your guide show you some of its most spectacular treasures, the Piazza del Campo, the Palazzo Tomei… and one of the most beautiful Cathedrals in Italy, il duomo de Siena.
The rest of the day will be yours at leisure to enjoy your surroundings.
Day 7
Today will be yours at leisure to enjoy your beautiful surroundings and relax in the peace of the Tuscan countryside.
For people looking for a little exercise, beautiful scenic walks lie in both directions outside the hotel gate.
Day 8
You will be met and transferred to board the lovely steam train of Siena will take you back in time; not only because of the completely original centoporte [multi-door] carriages, but also because of the rural events encountered along the way.
You will be able to detrain at romantic stations to then venture along foot trails, to reach churches, towns and castles, to stop at a farm for a tasting and to seize the opportunity to take part in feasts and festivals.
Day 9
After breakfast, your driver guide will meet you for your private transfer from Siena to Florence visiting the enchanting middle age village of San Gimigiano, and exploring a bit the Chianti region- With wine tasting of course!
Day 10
Today, make your way independently for your small group half day tour of the Florence. Discover the gems of this treasure of Renaissance- an expert guide will introduce you to the masterworks in two of the most awe inspiring museums in the world- the Accademia and the Uffizi Gallery.
The remainder of the day will be yours at leisure to roam Florence and visit its most important museums and sites.
Day 11
In the morning you will be met and transferred to the train station in Florence for your train to Venice.
On arrival you will transfer by water taxi to Ca Angeli where you will stay for 1 night.
In the afternoon, join a small group walking tour to discover the history of “La Serenissima”- the most serene Republic of Venetia- Its rise, longlife and fall, its plots and intrigues, and the places where they took place.
After this trip to the past, complete your evening with a romantic private Gondola ride.
Day 12
You will be met and transferred to the Venice airport for your flight home taking in the sights, sounds, and wonderful memories of an amazing Italian honeymoon.
