Day 3
Enjoy two full days of game viewing activities at Kings Pool Camp. Thanks to a range of habitats, Kings Pool offers spectacular wildlife viewing, whether on land or water, while the luxuries of the camp itself round off the safari experience.
Morning and afternoon Morning and afternoon game drives are offered in open 4×4 Land Rovers. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals you wouldn’t see during the day. On request, nature walks with skilled, armed guides are wonderful ways of getting close to nature and observing the smaller things you miss when traveling by vehicle.
There are two hides in the vicinity of Kings Pool from which to view and photograph animals and birds. One is located at the western end of camp and the other is an original underground hide, with the water at eye level.
Barge cruises along the Linyanti River are on offer on the colonial-style Queen Sylvia barge, generally with sundowners in hand. The river is ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in the dry winter months. * This activity is water level and weather dependent.
Fishing with a limited supply of basic equipment is on offer on a catch-and-release basis. *Seasonal.
Birding is outstanding at Kings Pool Camp, with the Linyanti Concession an internationally recognized Important Bird Area (IBA), particularly for birds of prey like Dickinson’s kestrel and waterbirds. In summer southern carmine bee-eaters nest near camp.
Massages are available for you to enjoy in the privacy of your tent.
Day 4
Day 5
After breakfast and a morning activity you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Mombo Camp where you will stay for three nights. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon activity.

Morning and afternoon game drives are offered via open 4×4 Land Rovers.
The Mombo Concession located in the Moremi Game Reserve is known as the “place of plenty”, highlighted by the massive concentrations of plains game and predators that can be seen. These include all the big cats, of which lion sightings are frequent. You can also expect to see leopard and cheetah, spotted hyaena, large herds of buffalo, elephant, white rhino, giraffe, blue wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra and much more. Birdlife is prolific around Mombo with African jacana, pygmy-geese, goliath heron and migrant waders in summer being particularly common.
There is a hide 20 minutes from camp from which you can view and photograph animals and birds.
Rhino conservation presentations on the return of the rhino to Botswana are held regularly by one of our available rhino conservation experts. These talks address the current plight of the rhino and how Wilderness Safaris is helping to safeguard these mammals.

There is no better way of viewing the Delta and its wildlife than by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). At Jao we have a number of these – as well as two glass-bottomed mekoro for an entirely out of this world experience!
Boating trips in 8 seater boats in the waterways to the east of camp allow for good game viewing in the channels further away.
Morning and afternoon game drives are offered in open 4×4 Land Rovers each accommodating a maximum of seven people allowing each guest a window seat. A 45-minute boat ride from Jao Camp, you can enjoy a full-day game drive, along with a picnic, on wildlife-rich Hunda Island. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals you wouldn’t see during the day.
A raised hide located about 20 minutes from camp is a great place to watch the comings and goings of wildlife. The hide can also be used for sleep-outs for a maximum of four people at a time. The hide is equipped with a long-drop toilet.
Tucked under magnificent African ebony trees overlooking lush waterways, the Jao Spa is an enchanting setting where you can rest and feel utterly restored. Here, we offer a full menu of therapies from facials to manicures, and a range of massage options.
Fishing with a limited supply of basic equipment (spinner rods and a small range of lures) is on offer seasonally on a catch-and-release basis.
