Explore Poland
Poland has a long and proud history, and the country has fully emerged from the tragedies of the Second World War and its long, troubled slumber behind the Iron Curtain. Today’s Poland is a forward-thinking nation at a crucial crossroads between East and West, and it’s reconnecting with its own past.
From the stately elegance of Warsaw, Lublin and Krakow – cities which can hold their own against Paris or Berlin – to the dark, brooding forests, Poland represents a land of contrasts and surprises. It is of course also where some of the worst atrocities of the War took place, and this itinerary includes visits to several of the most infamous concentration camp sites, including Auschwitz.
While these occasions are sobering, they are also a testament to the triumph of the human spirit and freedom over repression, while Schindler’s factory is a reminder of how individuals can stand up to evil.
