The remarkable beauty of Ruaha is not only in the landscape and its diversity of flora and fauna, or the impressive big game, but in the feeling of having the wilderness all to yourself.

Inspired by the landscape which surrounds it, Jabali blends almost seamlessly with its environment. With minimal use of solid walls, the main areas are predominantly open with natural granite boulders providing privacy and shade – even when relaxing in camp you are still one with nature. An infinity pool is the perfect place to cool off on a hot afternoon and the spa will rejuvenate even the most tired limbs.

The very best time for rewarding game viewing is in the cooler early mornings and late afternoons, when the animals are at their most active. Depending on the season, your day may start slightly earlier or later, but the general pace of life in camp is focused on giving you the very best possible game-viewing experience.

Stretching as far as the eye can see, this sprawling national park is among the largest in Tanzania. In the south find open plains, a sweeping savanna speckled with acacia trees in the center, rolling grasslands to the north, and dense woodlands and black clay pans in the west. One of the most popular in Africa, the Serengeti National Park attracts 100,000 visitors annually.

Within its majestic scenery find the distinctive stone outcroppings known as kopjes with rounded curves, the result of years of erosion. Attracting baboons, hyraxes, hyenas and klipspringers, these outcroppings are perfect for viewing wildlife, but can also be dangerous as they attract cobras and leopards. Within the woodlands of the Serengeti witness eland, giraffes, impalas, elephants and buffaloes. The plains attract gazelles and ostriches, while the swamps of the west call to a splendid variety of birds.

Black and white colobus monkeys chatter in the foliage and chase each other over the thatched roofs of the tented suites. A resident pod of hippo grunts and grumbles from beneath a layer of luscious green water weeds in the tranquil pool in front of the camp.

Game drives from the camp can expect to encounter large lion prides and clans of hyena up to a hundred strong, as well as the great herds of Tanzania’s annual Great Migration. Each year, the masses of wildebeest and zebra cross the waters of the Grumeti River, home to some of Africa’s largest crocodile, in search of fresh grazing grounds.

Tanzania’s famous migration is a restless thing: shifting with the seasons as the great herds of wildebeest wander between Kenya and Tanzania. Ubuntu Camp is a small, seasonal camp located in the Serengeti National Park. It moves with the Great Wildebeest Migration across the Serengeti and consistently offers spectacular game viewing opportunities.

The camp itself is an intimate, traditional canvas safari camp designed to give you as much of an under-the-skin Serengeti adventure experience as a truly authentic and comfortable one. If time allows, you may want to skip some of the game excursions. Spend the morning in camp getting reacquainted with a good book or sun yourself beside the rim-flow pool. In the afternoon, indulge in a spa treatment from our expert therapists or savor a leisurely lunch as you scan the horizon for signs of the resident game.

Discover the wilderness through the eyes of those who have lived it and breathed it for centuries: the Maasai. A warrior will walk with you and a field guide – a rare opportunity to learn how this local population has survived by living in harmony with wild animals for hundreds of years.

The sight of thousands of rose-coloured flamingos at sunrise is a matchless, magnificent sight. Their presence cannot be guaranteed, but if they arrive, this is a must-do. Wade slowly towards them in rubber boots or watch from the shore in a safari vehicle with a coffee and snacks.

Expand your cultural horizons and meet Choroko, Maasai chief, and some of his wives; Sindani, Seeki, Nebulu and Nemburis. Enjoy an authentic experience sharing stories and learning about the Maasai culture.

You have the option of a balloon safari, for an additional charge. Up before dawn for this one… Glide over the tops of ancient baobab trees as the sun rises, glinting off elephant herds, antelope, zebra, lion. Watch in silence as the world wakes up below you and savor sights never seen before. Enjoy a rustic bush-breakfast after the hour-long flight.

Let your senses slip into sheer relaxation mode with our small but sumptuous range of indulgent body massages. Drift away into a slumber as you are gently pampered in serene surrounds. And you can get yourself back into top-to-toe shape with a manicure or pedicure.

Relax on the tranquil shores of Lake Manyara with a drink in hand after the day’s excitement of exploring the bush. Gather your thoughts as you watch the sun set, the first stars appear and the birds come home to roost.

Dine in a different location each night. From where to have dinner to whom you share it with, the choice is yours. The evening can be as private as you like or more convivial with other guests. Feel the whisper of the evening breeze as you eat beneath the stars. If you imagine, it we can do it.
