Day 1

On arrival into Amman, after clearing customs and immigration, proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to the Four Seasons Amman where you will stay for two nights. Dinner reservations can be made in advance so you can experience Jordanian cuisine and wine!


Day 2

After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel by your local guide who will take you on a full day excursion your day will begin traveling north to the ancient city of “Jerash, the Crossroads of Civilization”, remarkable for its unbroken chain of human occupation. Here, in the hills of Gilead, you will find remains from Neolithic times, as well as Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Omayyad civilizations. See a live performance of the Roman Army and Chariot Experience (RACE) at the hippodrome (if available).

After Jerash you will travel to Umm Qais (in the region ofancient Gadara), an ancient city of the Decapolis overlooking the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberias), where

philosophers and poets flourished in Greco-Roman times.

Have lunch and tour the remains of this unique old city, visit the traditional location of the miracle of the Gadarene swine and take in the panoramic vista.

Afterward, you will head back to Amman. Along the way, you will pass through the ancient forests of Gilead and also cross the area of the Zarqa River (ancient Jabbok River) where Jacob wrestled with the Angel of God and his name was changed to Israel.


Day 3

After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel by your local guide who will take you on a full day excursion.

First you will head towards the wilderness on the eastern banks of the River Jordan known as Bethany-beyond-the-Jordan. According to the Bible, this wilderness just north of the Dead Sea is where the prophet Elijah ascended to heaven on a chariot of fire, and where John the Baptist came centuries later preaching and baptizing in the spirit of Elijah. Here Jesus came to be baptized by his cousin before beginning his public ministry.

The next stop will be Mount Nebo, where the Bible says Moses climbed after his long Exodus journey to see the land he would never enter, and where he was buried near by God himself. Sixty years of excavation on the hilltop of Mount

Nebo reveals a basilica church with one of the most magnificent mosaic floors in the world. From the platform in front of the church, you will have an inspiring, breath-taking view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea to the rooftops of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. You will see what Moses saw.

After Mount Nebo, you will transfer to Madaba, famed for its mosaics. First we will have lunch at Haret Jdoudna, in the heart of the city.

Following lunch, you will visit the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George that features a vivid sixth-century Byzantine mosaic map known for being the oldest surviving mosaic map of the Holy Land.

You will then be transferred to Petra for dinner and overnight at your hotel in Petra


Day 4

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Petra where you will stay at the Movenpick for two nights.

Spend the morning with Indiana Jones in “The Last Crusade” as he charges through the desert gorge to the Treasury in search of the Holy Grail! Jordan abounds in archeological riches, but few sites in the world can rival the Nabataean city of Petra, carved out of the rose-red rock cliffs!

Enjoy lunch at the Basin Restaurant followed by an optional hike to the Monastery for those who wish to join (strenuous yet rewarding experience).

Dinner will be at the Petra Kitchen which is a relaxed, informal atmosphere where you will gather to prepare an evening meal, working alongside local women under the supervision of a local chef and which offers an evening of learning, fun and a very special dining experience, with each dish gaining the special flavor of a reward well-earned. Your hotel is walking distance away.


Day 5

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea where you will stay for three nights. Embrace the magic of Jordan’s most enchanting setting, where nature and history have so wonderfully conspired.
