Full Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival into Las Vegas, collect your baggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will collect your rental car for the next nine days before making your way into Canyon Country. First stop: Zion National Park!
Zion Canyon, which has been chiseled out by the Virgin River over time, is filled with massive stone formations, hidden slot canyons, stunning overlooks, and absolutely jaw-dropping landscapes. Once arrived, make your way to the Desert Pearl Inn, where you will stay for three nights.
Day 2
Today, enjoy the day hiking and exploring Zion National Park. (On your own)
No trip to Zion National Park would be complete without a great day exploring the heart of the park – Zion Canyon. Using your trusty Journey Guidebook, you will plan your day according to your interests for exploring and experiencing this unique canyon environment. Dwelling in the base of the canyon you will have the option of renting bikes and riding your way or getting out for one or more fabulous hikes within the canyon – or both! Many hikes are described in your guidebook, along with details that will inform your decisions for the day.
Day 3
Today, enjoy a Privately Guided Half Day Beginner Canyoneering Trip.
Your expert guides will match you to the right area for enjoying this fun activity. During the activity, you will make your way through a classic slot canyon environment by hiking, climbing, rappelling and generally using your own devices to weave through the wind- and water-hewn canyons.
Day 4
At a time to be advised: Begin your drive to The Grand Canyon National Park! Stopping along the way to explore the stunning Antelope Canyon. Antelope Canyon, located outside of Page, is a majestic, hidden slot canyon with just enough space for a small group to walk the sandy floor — and for the occasional shafts of sunlight to shine down from above. Photos of this remarkable place adorn homes, galleries and photographic books throughout the world.
After, make your way to the Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon where you will stay for two nights.
Located in the town of Tusayan, just two miles from the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park, the Grand Hotel offers very nice room amenities and of course, great proximity to the areas you will explore along the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
Day 5
Today, enjoy a Full Day Privately Guided Hiking Tour in Grand Canyon National Park with lunch.
No trip to the Grand Canyon would be complete without some great hiking and exploring with a passionate local naturalist guide. Your guide would meet you in the morning and after introductions and some discussion about the collective interests for exploring this amazing landscape, you will be off for the day. It really cannot be overstated what a difference it makes to have an experienced guide share their knowledge and interpret the cultural, geological, and natural history of this expansive landscape.
Day 6
At a time to be advised: Begin your drive to Monument Valley. Once arrived, make your way to the View Hotel where you will stay for one night.
Later, you will be taken on a Privately Guided Monument Valley Cultural Tour. (3.5 hr)
Through the Lower Monument Valley and back country areas, you will be focusing on Navajo culture while experiencing almost every scenic overlook in this tribal park. Rounding out your tour by visiting a local Hogan (a traditional Navajo lodge), your guides will share anecdotes and their own experiences to provide a wonderfully immersive experience.
Day 7
At a time to be advised: Begin your drive to Moab, home to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Once arrived, make your way to the Gonzo Inn where you will stay for two nights.
Perfectly located in the center of the town of Moab, the Gonzo Inn is a long-time client favorite. Nicely appointed rooms, a wonderful pool area, and continental breakfast each morning set this whimsical Southwestern-styled property apart from others in the area.
Day 8
Today, enjoy a Privately Guided Full Day 4×4 Overland Tour in the Arches National Park.
An expert guide/driver will take you in a specially configured 4×4 vehicle over stunning landscapes, into the dunes, and over rock, matched with thrilling technical driving and opportunities for great walks and hikes as you marvel at this one-of-a-kind area.
In the evening, enjoy Stargazing. Take advantage of the lack of light pollution in this remote area and head out for an evening of stargazing! Depending on the weather conditions and the moon during your stay, Moab is an excellent location for viewing the Milky Way and constellations with the guidance of an expert.
Day 9
At a time to be advised: Make your way to the airport to return your rental car before your departure flight.
Return home, taking with you the sights, sounds, and memories of an incredible trip!
