Insadong Street, located in the heart of the city, is an important place where old but precious and traditional goods are on display. There is one main road in Insadong with alleys on each side. Within these alleys are galleries, traditional restaurants, traditional teahouses, and cafes. There are about 100 galleries in the area and you can see every example of traditional Korean fine art from paintings to sculptures.

Seoul Sky Observatory is located on floors 117-123 of Lotte World Tower, the Nation’s tallest and the world’s fifth tallest building. The observatory offers a panoramic view of the entire capital city, beautiful both day and night. Manjanggul Cave (**UNESCO Site) is one of the finest lava tunnels in the world, and is a designated natural monument. A lava tunnel is formed when the lava that was deep in the ground spouts from the peak and flows to the surface. Manjanggul Cave has a variety of interesting structures inside including 70cm lava stalagmites and the lava tube tunnels. Only 1km of the 13,422m Manjanggul Cave is open to the tourists. There are rare animals such as bats living in the tunnel, which makes this tunnel valuable for researchers as well. The stone pillars and stalactites are widely spread and the tunnels shows off the cave’s topographical features.

Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak (**UNESCO Site) rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. The crater is about 600m in diameter and 90m high. With the 99 sharp rocks surrounding the crater, it looks like a gigantic crown. While the southeast and north sides are cliffs, the northwest side is a verdant grassy hill that is connected to the Seongsan Village. The sunrise from the crater is magnificent.

Seopjikoji Cape: Clean and wide green fields without spread beyond the cliff to where a rock emerges. Along the road to the peak where the lighthouse stands, stonewalls block the wind which makes the walk very peaceful. Going up the steps of the lighthouse, you can have a view of the whole seashore

One of the largest and most famous public squares in the world. It was named after Tiananmen Gate or “Gate of Heavenly Peace”. The square has great historical significance and has played witness to several important events in China’s history. Tiananmen Gate separates the square from the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City served as the imperial palace for nearly 500 years and was home to 24 Chinese between 1420 and 1911. The Forbidden City is now known as the Palace Museum. It is the world’s largest surviving palace complex, about the size of 72 soccer fields.

Today you will visit the incredible life-size Terracotta Warriors. After that you will also visit The Ancient City Walls and Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Terracotta Warriors : Discovered in 1974 by local farmers digging a well, one of the most significant archeological finds of the 20th century. These 6,000 life-size painted terracotta warriors and horses –individually sculpted from real-life models and arranged in battle formation have been protecting the mausoleum of the first emperor in Chinese history—Emperor QinShihuang since 2,200 years ago.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda: regarded by many as a symbol of the city, the pagoda was built in 652 A.D in Tang Dynasty to house the sutras brought back from India by the famous monk Xuan-zang.

The Ancient City Walls: It is built during the 14th century on Tang Dynasty foundations, date to the Ming Dynasty. The walls are the largest and best-preserved ancient fortress in the world. There is a gate in each of the four sides, the gate towers built over each gate look lofty and magnificent and form a tight defense engineering system. After the extension, the wall now stands 12 meters (40 feet) tall, 12-14 meters (40-46 feet) wide at the top and 15-18 meters (50-60 feet) thick at the bottom. It covers 13.7KM (8.5 miles) in length with a deep moat surrounding it.

After breakfast you will be collected for your Day Tour of The Great Mosque and visit the local Muslim community. After the tour, be transferred to the airport for your flight to Chengdu. Upon your arrival, be met and transferred to Tibet Hotel Chengdu where you will stay for two nights.

Great Mosque: the largest mosque in Xi’an and one of the four grand Islamic mosques in China with more than 1200 years’ history, the mosque possesses not only traditional Chinese architectural style, but also features peculiar to Islamic mosques and now it is a major spot for religious activities of 50,000 Muslims in Xi’an.

Muslim Street: also known as Beiyuanmen Street, is the center of the sizable Chinese-Muslim community in Xian. Visitors will pass through a narrow bazaar street linked with shops selling a large variety of interesting local delicacies, snacks and souvenirs. It is also packed with small restaurants serving typical Muslim food.

The city of Chengdu is the capital of southwestern China’s Sichuan province and it serves as a popular transport hub for the entire region. The city is known for its wonderfully relaxing teahouse culture, its extraordinarily spicy culinary scene, and its vibrant nightlife which is bolstered by the large numbers of student and expats who call Chengdu home. The main attraction is undoubtedly the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a conservation center where visitors can view endangered giant pandas in their natural habitat. Other must see sights include the Jinsha Site Museum which displays artifacts from the Shu Kingdom, many of which date back as far as the 4th century B.C.

On this day, you will visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, followed by a trip to the Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house enjoying a cup of traditional Chinese tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu and Jinli Old Street.

Giant Panda Breeding Research Base: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, or simply Chengdu Panda Base, is a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals. It is located in Chengdu, Sichuan, People’s Republic of China. Because many of the pandas are in their private enclosures, you usually cannot see all of them amuse themselves outside. To see as much as pandas, be sure to go early, better around 8am. Usually 8am-9am is the most active time of pandas. Lucky enough you can see how adult and baby pandas are fed during these hours, which you cannot see in common zoos. Your visit at Giant Panda Research includes the following items: you will get a chance to see a panda keeper to feed the pandas by hand in the morning, such as: carrot, apples, panda bread, biscuit and bamboo. And then you will visit the pandas’ enclosures and the new baby pandas’ room. After that, you will see a short Panda’s movie and visit the Panda museum, etc.

Wenshu Temple: Chengdu’s oldest and largest Buddhist temple originally built in Tang Dynasty, however, it is now a Qing Dynasty construction with exquisite relief carvings decorating many of the buildings. You can absorb the very atmosphere of Chengdu here: the temple is full of local worshippers burning incense on certain days, the tea house at the back of the complex is a great place to relax yourself and do some people watching, while the streets outside are filled with blind fortune-tellers, hawkers selling joss sticks, paper money and statues, and so on.

Teahouses: Chengdu is one of the few remaining cities in China with a really authentic tea house (Chadian) culture, thousands of teahouses dotted about Chengdu are hugely popular with locals, especially the elderly. Teahouses throughout the city are still important locations for social gatherings. Its distinct and unique atmosphere will let you get a good feel for Chengdu.

Jinli Old Street: Located in Chengdu combines the ambience of ancient and modern China. Jinli Old Street was constructed in 2004 in the traditional architectural style of Sichuan Province during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Jinli Old Street is not only a wonderful reminder China’s past, but also a great place for people to fully appreciate Sichuan’s customs, and folk arts.

You will have the morning at leisure before you are collected for your flight to Shanghai.

Upon your arrival at Shanghai, China’s most cosmopolitan city, your personal guide will meet you and escort you to The Bund Hotel where you will spend two nights. The rest of the day is yours to relax.

After breakfast, you will visit the Shanghai Museum(including the translator), Yu Garden, Yu Market, Jiangnan Silk Workshop, the Bund and then enjoy a bird’s eye view of the modern Shanghai from the Shanghai World Financial Center.

Shanghai Museum (including the translator): Often ranked as China’s best museum, it is the biggest museum in China with a fine collection of over 120,000 pieces of Chinese artifacts.

Note: Since the guides are not allowed to give speeches at Shanghai Museum, we will rent a translator for you instead. The Translator has English, French, German, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and Italian for your choice.

Yu Garden: Located in the Old Town of Shanghai and laid out in 1559 AD by a powerful Ming official, Yu Garden recreates a beautiful landscape of pagodas, pavilions, rockeries, fountains, ancient trees and precious flowers.

Yuyuan Market: Outside the Yu Garden, a bustling market with different snacks and trinkets.

Silk Workshop (factory): Chinese silk has surprised the world through the ancient Silk Road. How small cocoons transformed into elegant silk and embroideries has for long time been described as a magical process. When visit the workshop/factory, you will see a variety of skills used for producing the dazzling silk items. It is also a good place to find worthwhile souvenirs for your families and friends.

The Bund: Where the great trading houses and banks had their headquarters in 1920s and 1930s, about a mile long, it is the city’s fulcrum.

Shanghai World Financial Center: It is one of the top high skyscraper in the world. It has 101 floors and 1614 feet above the ground. You can get the cool feeling of having a bird’s eye view of Shanghai by standing on 100th floor’s glass overbridge.

You will be free on this day until your personal guide escorts you to the airport for your flight home, taking the sights, sounds, and memories of an incredible family vacation, home with you!
