On this must-do private journey around the Cape Peninsula, you’ll tour the spectacular Atlantic seaboard. The drive takes you past the swish seaside suburbs of Sea Point and Clifton, and on to Camps Bay, with its many trendy beachfront cafés and restaurants.
The exclusive hamlets of Bakoven and Llandudno are also gorgeous sights to take in on your way to the fishing village of Hout Bay. Next, you’ll navigate the breathtaking curves of Chapman’s Peak Drive as it follows the Peninsula’s rocky coastline, revealing spectacular views in all directions.
At the Cape of Good Hope, which forms part of Table Mountain National Park, you have the opportunity to see some fabulous bird life, as well as very special fauna, such as Cape mountain zebra, bontebok and chacma baboons. Ride the funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse and capture even more magical vistas of False Bay, or if you are feeling active, hike up from the famous Cape of Good Hope landmark.
Of course, no visit to the Cape Peninsula would be complete without popping in at Boulders Beach to witness the antics of the African penguins. Head home through the naval village of Simon’s Town, stop to browse the eclectic range of shops and galleries in bohemian Kalk Bay, and spot the surfers vying for the best waves at Muizenberg.
To round off your day, take a stroll through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, nestled on the slopes of Table Mountain. Here you can admire a panoply of the unique Cape flora also known as fynbos, as well as plants from the many diverse biomes of southern Africa. Or, if you prefer the fruits of a different kind of plant altogether, enjoy a wine tasting at one of the premium estates in the Constantia Valley.

Cape Town’s natural beauty, cosmopolitan flavor and rich cultural diversity offer guests a variety of ways to experience the oldest city in South Africa – hence its name: The Mother City.
Walk the summit of Table Mountain – at 1 086 metres above sea level, there’s a spectacular 360-degree view of the city, sea and the Cape Peninsula. Access to the summit is via the fast and convenient Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
Explore the city, including the Company’s Garden – where food was grown for passing ships in the 17th century – take in the Houses of Parliament, National Gallery, St George’s Cathedral, and browse for keepsakes at Greenmarket Square. Pause for a coffee at the legendary ‘steampunk’ Truth Coffee, and taste local delicacies such as biltong and koeksisters near Bree Street.
Take in the highs and lows of Cape Town history, from the Grand Parade, where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation after his release from prison, to the District Six Museum, which highlights the bitter, forced removal of the area’s residents during apartheid. The brightly painted houses and cobblestone streets of the Bo-Kaap provide wonderful photo opportunities – but don’t ignore the poignant history of the people living there. A visit to the spice shop is also a must!

A mere forty-five minute drive from the city, almost two hundred wineries produce a range of red and white wine styles to suit all palates.
The university town of Stellenbosch is a great place to start. Known locally as Eikestad (translated as Oak City, after the multitude of eponymous trees) , the town boasts some of the finest and well-preserved examples of Cape-Dutch architecture in the country. Browse some of the many quaint shops and galleries, or watch the passing parade from the veranda of a vibrant coffee shop.
Wine estates visited will vary according to your preferences, with the stand-out varietals including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and the unique local red, Pinotage. There are also many excellent Cap Classique sparkling wines to sample – our local version of Champagne.

Day 5
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to the Cape Town Airport for your scheduled flight to Skukuza. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp, where you will stay for four nights.
Time permitting, enjoy lunch and an afternoon activity.
Day 6 – 8
Enjoy three full days of game viewing activities at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge.
An early morning call from the Ranger will wake you before first light, while the kitchen brews hot coffee or tea, and prepares cool fruit juices with a muffin, rusk or other freshly made delicacies. So begins the morning safari.
The bush is already alive, the air filled with birdsong as the rising sunlight dances off beads of dew on spiders’ webs. Nobody, not even the tracker who can read the bushveld like a book, knows what’s in store. He will watch the road for spoor, leaning forward intently to find any print left by a predator during its hunt in the dark. There may be hushed discussions in Shangaan between Ranger and Tracker, and brief radio interactions from one vehicle to another. Sharing information ensures that the occupants of each Land Rover have the best chance of a wide range of sightings during their drives – and also ensures control and responsible behavior as the vehicles move in close to the animals.
Renowned for luxury experiences, Sabi Sabi isn’t all about phenomenal game drives and exceptional dining. Opportunities for education and adventure are definitely on the cards for those interested and energetic. On the morning safari walk you can be part of a small group that sets out on foot after breakfast. The walk is an opportunity to feel the pulse of Africa through the soles of your feet and experience the bushveld at close quarters.
Sabi Sabi boasts approximately 350 different species of birds, a paradise for birdwatchers. Raptors are plentiful, including 11 species of owl, the seldom seen cuckoo hawk and rare bat hawk. There is an endless diversity of trees, shrubs, and flowering plants, and whatever the time of year, no two walks are ever the same.
Evening falls and you prepare for the night safari. As the fierce heat of the day cools, the inhabitants of the bush become restless, and the animals move out of the shade of the trees. The call of the crested francolin reverberates through the bushveld and birds increase the volume of their song. You will be aware of colors softening to the beautiful, gentle hues that vary with each season. New scents fill the air and as the sun dips behind the horizon your Ranger will choose a spot where you can stretch your legs and enjoy sundowners alongside the vehicle. Watch in awe as the sky turns to the sensational vibrant reds, golds and oranges typical of an African sunset. There is a lull as the animals sense the transition into a time of increased danger. It is during evening safaris that the nocturnal hunters start stirring, and their prey needs to be alert for survival through the night.
During your safari you may be lucky enough to watch lions prepare for their evening hunt. Their long bodies stretch to ease muscles cramped from lying in the shade during the day; sinews are lengthened and claws sharpened against a tree; the vegetation is marked with scent, and the wind checked for smells; only then do they set off in a slow, loose-jointed, arrogant amble. There are numerous nocturnal hunters and on your evening safari, with the help of a spotlight, a leopard’s eyes may reflect back from a nearby tree. Or you may be lucky enough to spot another smaller predator, a genet, African civet or African wild cat. One can come across scenes at night that become etched in memory: elephants moving heavily but silently in the moonlight; the incredible flying leaps of bushbabies from treetop to treetop, and the red shine from a lion’s eyes as it looks up from its kill. A Sabi Sabi evening safari will never be forgotten.
Day 9
At a time to be advised: You will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Nelspruit where you will connect with your scheduled flight to Zambia. Upon arrival, after completing immigration and customs formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the Arrivals Hall. Here you will be met by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to Toka Leya Camp, where you will stay for two nights.
Time permitting, enjoy lunch and an afternoon activity.
Day 10
Enjoy a full day to explore Victoria Falls.
One of the original natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is breathtaking and not suprisingly a World Heritage Site. Known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ this spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe. Unlike other waterfalls Victoria Falls has a natural catwalk across from the falls which provides for spectacular viewing.
On the banks of the Zambezi River, Toka Leya is far enough from Livingstone to ensure a tranquil, authentic bush experience, yet close enough for guests to enjoy all the many activities in the greater Victoria Falls area. Toka Leya can be all about adrenaline, or an opportunity to relax and unwind before or after a safari.
Day 11
At a time to be advised: You will be collected by an Alluring Africa representative for your private road transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
Return home, taking with you the sights, sounds, and memories of an incredible African adventure!
